Equipment

  • 1 Standard 12-cup muffin tin lightly sprayed or greased
  • 1 rolling pin or flat surface for rolling dough (optional: lightly floured)
  • 1 Small bowl to mix cinnamon & sugar topping
  • 1 knife or knife + bench scraper to cut dough logs into sections
  • 1 spoon or spatula to spread apple butter evenly on dough

Ingredients

  • 3 tubes crescent roll sheets 8 oz each, seams sealed if perforated (≈24 oz total dough)
  • 1 ½ cups apple butter divided, about 360 g total; spread over dough
  • ½ cup granulated sugar for topping, about 100 g
  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping, mixture to coat warm cruffins

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Lightly spray or grease standard 12-cup muffin tin.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll or press each tube of dough into a ~12×16-inch rectangle. Seal seams if dough is perforated. Spread ~½ cup apple butter evenly over each sheet.
  • Starting from the long side, roll dough into a tight log. Cut the log in half, then cut each half in half lengthwise, giving four sections per sheet (total 12 pieces).
  • With layers facing outward, roll each section into a spiral shape (like a cinnamon-roll), tuck end under. Place into prepared muffin cups.
  • Bake for about 22–24 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • In a small bowl, whisk sugar + cinnamon. When cruffins come out of oven, immediately roll each in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat. Let cool slightly before serving.
