Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Line 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper.
Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy using electric mixer.
Add eggs and vanilla to creamed mixture and mix until combined.
Gradually combine wet and dry mixtures.
Fold in chocolate chips and nuts (if using) with a rubber spatula.
Press dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Bake for 22–25 minutes, until edges are golden and center is set.
Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
Notes
For extra chewy bars, don’t overbake. Nuts are optional but add great texture!
