Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter Softened
  • 1 cup Brown sugar Packed
  • ½ cup Granulated white sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup Chopped walnuts/pecans Optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Line 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper.
  • Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  • Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy using electric mixer.
  • Add eggs and vanilla to creamed mixture and mix until combined.
  • Gradually combine wet and dry mixtures.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and nuts (if using) with a rubber spatula.
  • Press dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 22–25 minutes, until edges are golden and center is set.
  • Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into bars.

Notes

For extra chewy bars, don’t overbake. Nuts are optional but add great texture!
