Ingredients

Instructions

  • Combine dry ingredients in a medium bowl.
  • Cream butter and sugars until fluffy.
  • Add egg, vanilla, and molasses; mix well.
  • Fold dry mix into wet mix; form dough.
  • Chill dough for 1 hour.
  • Roll dough and cut into shapes.
  • Bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes.
  • Cool completely before decorating.

Notes

Decorate with icing, candies, or leave plain for a classic chewy treat. Adjust spices to taste for more or less warmth.
