Ingredients

  • ½ cup Unsalted butter Melted
  • 4 oz Dark chocolate Chopped
  • ¾ cup Granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup Brown sugar Packed
  • 2 large Eggs Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • cup All-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¾ cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips Tossed in flour
  • cup Walnuts Chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Melt the butter and chopped dark chocolate together until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  • Whisk in the granulated and brown sugars, then add eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until glossy and combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  • Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a rubber spatula.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped walnuts (if using).
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Let cool in the pan for at least 2 hours on a wire cooling rack before slicing into squares.

Notes

For extra gooey brownies, slightly underbake them. You can store them in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
