Ingredients

  • 1 can Refrigerated crescent roll dough 8 rolls
  • 2 medium Apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • ¼ cup Granulated sugar For tossing apples
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon Plus extra for topping
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter Melted
  • ¾ cup Light brown sugar Packed
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice Prevents browning
  • 1 cup Mountain Dew or Sprite Optional
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg Optional
  • 1 pinch Salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease pan.
  • Peel, core, and slice apples into 8 wedges.
  • Toss apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and sugar.
  • Unroll crescent dough; place apple wedge at wide end.
  • Roll dough around apple and place in baking dish.
  • Melt butter; stir in brown sugar, vanilla, and salt.
  • Pour sauce evenly over dumplings.
  • Add Mountain Dew/Sprite around dumplings (optional).
  • Bake 35–40 min until golden and bubbling.
  • Cool 10 min before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence. You can skip the soda if you prefer a less sweet version.
