Beat eggs, then mix with milk, butter, and vanilla
Combine wet and dry ingredients into a smooth batter
Let batter rest for 5 minutes
Fold in chocolate chips if using
Lightly grease waffle iron
Pour ¾ cup batter into waffle iron
Cook until steam stops, about 4-5 minutes
Remove waffles carefully with tongs
Serve warm with toppings of choice
