Ingredients

  • 2 large apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled and cored
  • 1 can crescent roll dough or puff pastry sheets
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar divided
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon divided
  • 0.5 cup butter melted
  • 0.75 cup lemon-lime soda Sprite or Mountain Dew
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • 1 pinch salt to balance sweetness
  • vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  • Peel and core apples, then cut into wedges.
  • Mix cinnamon and sugar; coat apple pieces.
  • Unroll crescent dough and place an apple on each triangle.
  • Seal edges and arrange dumplings in a greased baking dish.
  • Mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon; pour over dumplings.
  • Add soda around edges of the dish (not directly on dumplings).
  • Bake at 350°F for 35–40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Cool 5–10 minutes before serving with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Perfect for fall or any cozy evening treat!
