Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch baking pan or 8x8 for thicker brownies
  • 1 Large mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk or wooden spoon
  • 1 set Measuring cups/spoons 1 set
  • 1 Rubber spatula for folding
  • 1 Cooling rack
  • 1 Sharp knife for cutting

Ingredients

  • 1 box Chocolate cake mix any brand
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Vegetable oil or melted butter for richer flavor
  • 2–3 tablespoon Water reduce from box directions
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract optional
  • 0.5 cup Chocolate chips or mix-ins (nuts, marshmallows, etc.)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease pan.
  • Combine cake mix, eggs, oil, water, and vanilla.
  • Fold in chocolate chips or other mix-ins.
  • Spread batter in prepared pan.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes until edges are set.
  • Cool on rack, then cut into squares.
