  • 2 Baking sheets Heavy, light-colored
  • 1 Cookie scoop ~1.5 tablespoon / #40

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups All-purpose flour Spoon & level
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter Softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Eggs Room temperature
  • 2 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Fine salt
  • ¾ cup Rainbow sprinkles Jimmies, not nonpareils
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar Optional glaze
  • 2–3 tablespoon Milk For glaze consistency

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C); line sheets with parchment.
  • Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time; mix in vanilla.
  • Whisk dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt); add to wet mixture just until combined.
  • Gently fold in sprinkles.
  • Portion ~1.5 tablespoon balls onto baking sheets.
  • Refrigerate 15 minutes to reduce spread.
  • Bake 10–12 minutes until edges set and centers are slightly soft.
  • Rest 5 minutes on sheet, then transfer to wire rack to cool.
  • (Optional) Whisk powdered sugar and milk; drizzle glaze over warm cookies.

Notes

Jimmies are preferred over nonpareils to prevent color bleeding. Glazing is optional, but adds a nice finish for parties!
