Ingredients

  • 200 g Dark chocolate Chopped, for ganache
  • 2 ¼ cups All-purpose flour Sifted
  • ¾ cup Cocoa powder Unsweetened, sifted
  • 4 Eggs Room temperature
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Brown sugar Packed
  • ½ cup Butter Softened
  • ¼ cup Vegetable oil Neutral
  • 1 cup Buttermilk Room temperature
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 ½ cups Hazelnuts Toasted and skinned
  • 1 cup Nutella For frosting and filling
  • 1 cup Heavy cream For ganache
  • ½ cup Cream cheese Softened
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar Sifted
  • ½ cup Wafer cookies Crushed
  • 10 Ferrero Rocher candies Whole, for decoration

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F, prep 3 pans with parchment, and mix dry ingredients.
  • Cream butter & sugars, add eggs, vanilla, oil, and alternate with buttermilk.
  • Divide batter into pans and bake 28–32 minutes; cool on wire racks.
  • Toast hazelnuts, make caramelized praline, then pulse into crunchy bits.
  • Make Nutella buttercream with powdered sugar and cream cheese.
  • Prepare chocolate ganache by pouring hot cream over chopped chocolate.
  • Level cake, brush with syrup, layer with buttercream and praline.
  • Crumb coat, chill, cover with frosting and ganache, decorate with candies.

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate and freshly toasted hazelnuts for best flavor. You can customize the filling or decoration with extra praline or Nutella drizzle.
