Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
Grease heart-shaped pan and line with parchment
Whisk dry ingredients in a bowl
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy (5 minutes)
Add eggs one at a time
Mix in vanilla
Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk
Pour batter into prepared pan.
Tap pan to remove air bubbles.
Bake for 30-40 minutes.
Cool cake completely before frosting.
Beat butter for buttercream.
Gradually add powdered sugar.
Mix in vanilla, salt, and cream.
Frost and decorate as desired.
