Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cold unsalted butter cubed
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6-8 tablespoon ice water
  • 1 large egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 2-3 tablespoon milk for glaze
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup for glaze

Instructions

  • Combine flour, salt, butter, water.
  • Wrap dough, refrigerate 30 min.
  • Combine brown sugar, cinnamon.
  • Cut dough into rectangles.
  • Add sugar mixture, top with dough.
  • Press edges with fork.
  • 400°F for 15–20 min.
  • Let rest before glazing.

Notes

For extra flavor, drizzle glaze while pastries are still slightly warm so it melts in.
