Ingredients

  • ½ cup Unsalted butter Softened
  • ¾ cup Brown sugar Packed
  • 1 piece Egg Room temperature
  • ½ cup Pure maple syrup Grade A Dark recommended
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Pure preferred
  • 1 teaspoon Maple extract Optional, for stronger flavor
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ cup Pecans/Walnuts Optional, chopped

Instructions

  • Cream butter & sugar.
  • Add egg, maple syrup, vanilla and maple extracts. Mix until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  • Stir in chopped nuts, if using.
  • Using a cookie scoop, portion dough onto lined cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cookies cool on a wire rack.
