Equipment

  • 1 Pastry brush
  • 1 Mini Muffin Tin Greased
  • 1 Rolling pin
  • 1 Large mixing bowl
  • 1 set Measuring cups/spoons
  • 1 Stand mixer Optional

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoon Instant yeast (1 packet)
  • ½ teaspoon Salt room temperature
  • ¾ cup Warm milk (110°F)
  • 3 tablespoon Unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 large Egg Room temperature
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract

For the Filling

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup Brown sugar Packed
  • 2 tablespoon Ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg optional

For the Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoon milk As needed

Instructions

  • Mix 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl
  • Add warm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla
  • Knead dough until smooth
  • Let dough rise for 30 minutes
  • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon
  • Roll out dough into a rectangle
  • Spread butter over dough
  • Sprinkle filling evenly
  • Roll up dough tightly
  • Cut dough into 24 pieces
  • Place in mini muffin tin
  • Let rolls rise for 20-30 minutes
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes
  • Beat cream cheese and butter
  • Add powdered sugar, vanilla, milk
  • Spread frosting over warm rolls

Notes

  • Make sure milk is warm (110°F) but not hot
  • Room temperature ingredients work best
  • Can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight
  • Freezes well unfrosted for up to 2 months
