Cake Ingredients

  • 200 g white chocolate
  • 250 g unsalted butter softened
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 120 g cake flour sifted
  • 3 large eggs room temperature
  • 120 ml milk room temperature
  • 60 ml sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Frosting

  • 150 g white chocolate melted and cooled
  • 100 g butter softened
  • 50 g powdered sugar sifted

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • Melt white chocolate using a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl. Set aside to cool.
  • Cream butter and sugar together in a bowl using a stand or hand mixer until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Alternately add dry ingredients and milk/sour cream mixture to the batter, mixing gently.
  • Fold in vanilla extract and melted white chocolate until just combined.
  • Pour batter evenly into prepared pans and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  • Frost with white chocolate frosting and chill for 30 minutes before serving.
