Ingredients
Galette Base

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, toss sliced apples with brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch round.
Arrange the apple mixture in the center, leaving a 2-inch border around the edges.
Fold the edges of the pastry over the apples, pleating as you go to form a rustic crust.
Beat the egg with milk in a small bowl. Brush the pastry edges with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
Bake for 35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
Let the galette cool slightly before serving. Optional: glaze with warmed apricot jam for extra shine.
Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Try adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream when serving for an extra treat!
