Ingredients

  • 2 Ripe bananas Mashed very ripe
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter Softened
  • ¾ cup Brown sugar Packed
  • 1 Egg Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Pure if possible
  • 1 ½ cups All-purpose flour Spoon and level
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Cinnamon Optional for warmth
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips Plus more for topping if desired
  • ½ cup Chopped walnuts Optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets.
  • Cream butter and sugar; add egg, vanilla, and mashed bananas.
  • In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon.
  • Add dry ingredients to wet, mix until just combined.
  • Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
  • Drop dough onto baking sheet, flatten slightly, top with chips.
  • Let dough rest for 30 minutes.
  • Bake 10–12 min until edges are golden, centers soft.
  • Cool 5 min on sheet, then move to wire rack.
