  • 1 Large mixing bowl For dough preparation
  • 1 Kitchen scale For accurate flour measurement
  • 1 Stand mixer With dough hook (optional)
  • 1 9x5-inch loaf pan Greased
  • 2 Kitchen towel For covering during rising
  • 1 Wire cooling rack For cooling the baked loaf
  • 1 Cheese grater For fresh cheese
  • 1 Sharp knife For dicing jalapeños

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups Bread flour Plus more for kneading
  • 2 ¼ teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 1 ¼ cups Warm water Around 110°F
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 3 whole Jalapeños Seeded, finely diced, sautéed
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese Shredded
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese Shredded
  • 2 tablespoon Butter Melted, for brushing top
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Smoked paprika

Instructions

  • Mix dough base and sauté jalapeños.
  • Knead dough and add cheese + jalapeños.
  • First rise until doubled in size.
  • Shape dough and top with more cheese.
  • Final rise, then bake at 375°F.
  • Cool and brush top with melted butter.

Notes

For extra kick, leave some jalapeño seeds in. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
